Sabrina Mowlah-Baksh (Trinidad and Tobago)

Sabrina Mowlah-Baksh is a 2017 Women PeaceMaker fellow of the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice.

As a formative member and former Chair of WINAD (a feminist organization leading on women and security issues in Trinidad & Tobago) Sabrina Mowlah-Baksh has carried out pioneering work to address the impact of illicit guns on communities through the application of a gendered analysis. The organisation’s work revolves around advocacy, policy development, research, capacity building and community interventions through women and girls. Mowlah-Baksh was a Councillor and Deputy Mayor of the City of San Fernando and holds a Master’s Degree in Gender and Development.
