CORE LIBRARY: Youth radicalisation

CORE LIBRARY REPORT

Young people have been identified as being at particular risk of becoming involved in extremist movements, particularly boys and young men facing psychological and social challenges. This sixth report argues that although most young people present no risk, due to their being nearly two billion young people on the planet, many of them in the global South, it is important to understand this demographic. It notes how extremist movements use youth culture, and how some young people are themselves active in creating extremist content and building extremist movements. It outlines vectors of vulnerability and outlines priorities, calling for a multifaceted, multi-agency response to youth radicalisation that engages directly with young people, that develops resilience, and which creates routes out of extremism.
